delato Handcrafted Ice Cream by ZaTaYaYummy – Ice Cream Cafe with Matcha Mochi Waffle in Tampines

Opened by social media personality, ZaTaYaYummy, delato Handcrafted Ice Cream by ZaTaYaYummy, is a new dessert cafe in Tampines.

Tucked within a neighbourhood centre, the humble cafe marks the latest hangout spot for residents in the area to satisfy their ice cream cravings till midnight.

delato offers Sicilian-style gelato (without eggs), including vegan options like Soursop Glutinous and Strawberry Mint Yogurt. Flavours are on a rotational basis and there are 12 flavours during my visit.

Signature gelato flavours ($4.20 Original, $5 Premium) include Kopi Toast, Maple Walnut Pie, Salted Oreo, Pink Guava and Cendol Jackfruit.

Pair it with the insta-worthy Charcoal Cone $1.20 wrapped in a cute bunny-shaped sleeve or go for the house special Matcha Mochi Waffle $7. Otherwise, enjoy the best of both original and matcha mochi flavours in the Duo Waffle $7.50.

The Kopi Toast surprises with bits of chewy sugar butter toast, accompanied with the taste of milky coffee.

Made of coconut milk and real jackfruit, the vegan Cendol Jackfruit impresses with its rich distinctive flavour and silky smooth texture.

Meanwhile, the Matcha Mochi flavour in the waffle is equally remarkable. It is super crunchy on the outside (the way I like it), and hides a layer of stretchy, chewy mochi infused with matcha.

Elevate the treat with toppings ($0.50 each) such as Rice Crispy Puff, Biscoff Crumbs, Chocolate Syrup and Maple Syrup too.

Round it off with a cup of deliciously made Maple Latte ($5 Hot, $5.50 Cold) that comes with a double shot.
