Dotori Garden, Seoul – Studio Ghibli Themed Cafe with Acorn Madeleine and Honeycomb Yogurt Bowl

Surrounded by many popular cafes in the Jongno vicinity, Dotori Garden is a themed cafe which stands out for its Studio Ghibli-inspired decor and bakes. The cafe gives off a homely vibe and has indoor and outdoor seats flanked by adorable plushies against photogenic backdrops.

Everything is self-service here.

You get to choose from an amazing array of sweets and savouries on display. There are Onion Pretzel Sandwich KRW 6800, Sausage Potato Salt Bread KRW 6800, Canele (from KRW 3800) and acorn-shaped Madeleines KRW 4300 in assorted flavours like Lemon, Earl Grey and Chocolate.

Heartier dishes include French Toast KRW 14500 and Sio Brunch KRW 15500 with salt bread.

Another highlight here is the signature Greek Yoghurt Bowl (from KRW 17500). Each bowl is served with a dollop of creamy Greek yoghurt, a block of honeycomb, crunchy granola and fruits.

The Strawberry Bowl KRW 18500 comes with freshly sliced strawberries and the abovementioned ingredients. The honeycomb and granola tasted amazing. Despite the portion size, it can be quite filling.

The Yuzu Vanilla Canele KRW 4500 does not disappoint either. The exterior is crusty and the sweetness is well balanced with the tangy, molten yuzu centre.

The Pistachio Matcha Madeleine KRW 4300 is quite crumbly and slightly on the dry side. However, it looks too cute to be missed.
