Eggslut Singapore – Famous Los Angeles Egg Sandwich joint opens at Scotts Square

Visited Eggslut on a Monday evening and the queue was fortunately not too long. Within ten minutes, I was in and ordered two sandwiches – Fairfax Sandwich $12 and Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich $12 for takeaway.

The menu offers a concise selection of six sandwiches, which includes the signature Fairfax Sandwich $12 and widely raved about Gaucho Sandwich $23.

The first thing that impresses me was the brioche bun. It’s very light and airy and doesn’t steal the limelight from the filling.

For the Fairfax Sandwich, I could taste the chive-infused cage-free scrambled eggs layered with cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and sriracha mayo. The soft creamy scrambled egg is the showstopper of the sandwich. Complemented with the light touch of the spice, it added another dimension to our palate. Definitely not just another boring egg bun!

The Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich, on the other hand, features strips of hardwood smoked bacon, cage-free fried egg with a runny yolk, cheddar cheese and chipotle ketchup between warm brioche bun. It’s a classic no-frills sandwich on its own. Nonetheless, I found the smoked bacon to be overly salty, that even the ketchup was unable to mask it.
