Food Capital’s Heritage Fiesta Buffet with Dragon Rib Bak Kut Teh, Five Spice Prawn Fritter, Chilli Crab & Durian at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel

From 21 June to 21 July 2019, feast to your heart’s content at the Heritage Fiesta buffet at Food Capital, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.

Relish in the familiar tastes of authentic local cuisine all in one spread. From the delightful Five Spice Prawn Fritter and Roasted Meat, to the irresistible Bak Kut Teh with Dragon Pork Ribs, Salted Egg Yolk Prawn and Signature Chilli Crab, there is something from everyone’s childhood and daily life.

Even a dish as simple as fried bee hoon, is comforting at its best with a nice touch of wok hei.

The accompanying homemade sambal (I believe) is equally tasty and lethal in spice. As a taker of fiery hot food, this burns my tongue but is absolutely satisfying.

The Pork Rib Soup is rich-tasting, albeit less peppery and a little porky for my liking. The ribs though, are humongous with rather tender meats. Just grip the bony end and gnaw away.

One of my favourites is the Salted Egg Yolk Prawn. it’s heavier in taste which received mixed reaction at the table.

Personally, I totally loved the little crispy texture of the salted egg coated around. The prawns are huge too and well-cooked such that they retain their succulency even for its size. I would have more.

The Signature Chilli Crab is also one of the nicer ones I have had in a hotel buffet.

The gravy is thick and tasty, perfect with the soft and delicate crabmeats, and for dipping the golden fried buns in.

There’s also the local favourite Satay and Sashimi with scallops.

Only for dinner, from 7:30PM to 9PM, add on $15++ per person to enjoy unlimited freshly opened durian such as Mao Shan Wang at the Riverside.
