Glacier Cafe – Instagrammable Botanical-themed cafe in Lavender serves floral gelato, house baked toast & brunch

Cafe hopping is slowly returning to Singapore, with new F&B establishments sprouting in familiar hipster neighbourhoods.

Glacier Cafe is a minimalist meets botanical-themed cafe that recently opened in Jalan Besar, with extended operating hours till 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. The 46-seater cafe even has a mini indoor garden where the staff grows herbs that are used as ingredients or garnishes for their dishes.

The menu is a simple one, with classic brunch dishes, desserts, and drinks that are beautifully crafted. The Seafood Vongole Pasta boasts a sizeable serving of al dente pasta that is encircled by fresh clams. Definitely bang for your buck!

While I’m not typically a fan of grain bowls, I must say that the Salmon Mentaiko Truffle Grain Bowl won me over with its array of colourful ingredients and robust flavours. The salmon is hearty yet tender, with its flavours elevated by a generous topping of mentaiko while the vegetables added crunch to the dish.

For dessert, Glacier Cafe serves an interesting array of locally-inspired gelato, such as Chrysanthemum, Blue Pea Lemongrass Pandan, and Oolong Osmanthus. You can pair them with a crunchy, yet fragrant Earl Grey Cone or a flavoured Babka Loaf!
