Joy Luck Teahouse 歡樂冰室 – New Milo Pineapple Bun & Milo Yin Yang at Causeway Point

Joy Luck Teahouse 歡樂冰室 has opened its door on 18 December 2020 at Causeway Point, basement one. The Hong Kong-style Cafe (Cha Chaan Teng) brings together three iconic must-have items from Hong Kong – egg tarts, pineapple buns and milk tea — which are also on the UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Hong Kong list.

In light of the new opening, Joy Luck Teahouse will be having special promotions on their new drink and bun from 18 to 20 December 2020.

– Grab a Milo Pineapple Bun at $2 (U.P. $2.50)

A new addition to the menu is the Milo Yin Yang (Hot, $4.30; Cold, $4.60; Bottled, $4.90), made with quality coffee, premium tea and milo chocolate malt, rewarding you with a velvety smooth texture and layers of intricate flavour.

Those who are familiar with Joy Luck Teahouse’s other outlets at ION and Bugis Junction, you would haven known about their famous Pineapple Bun. This time, they are having the all-new Milo Pineapple Bun to pair with the beverage. The crust is baked till golden and crumbly. Encased within it is a layer of milo powder mixed with sugar. It tasted like a sweet and chewy chocolate bar; I wished that it was more custardy or paste-like to complement the bun better.

I love the egg tarts. You can get a Box of 4 $9.20 and try them in two different version – Cookie and Pastry skin.

There was a short queue today when the outlet opened.
