Celebrity Chef Justin Quek’s MAC Ready Meals X KALMS Vending Pop Up Event in Downtown East

If dining in one of the celebrity restaurants in Marina Bay Sands is out of your budget, let celebrity chef Justin Quek brings to you MAC (Modern Asian Cuisine) meals at a fraction of the prices alongside promises of quality and tasty ingredients.

Asia’s most internationally-celebrated chef, Justin Quek, has two other restaurants in MBS, namely CHINOISERIE and JustIN Flavours of Asia. In a bid to let the masses have a taste of his culinary expertise too, Chef Justin has collaborated with KALMS to create a new line of ready-to-eat meals, MAC.

From 28 to 31 March 2019, head down to KALMS Vending Pop Up event at Downtown East between 10am to 9pm, to savour first-hand Chef Justin’s MAC cuisine, alongside other brands like WAFU and trEATS!.

For now, there are ongoing promotions such as $0.50 for all KOFE drinks and $10 for two WAFU Japanese bento boxes and more.

Look forward to MAC meal boxes showered with Chef Justin’s love for French and Asian cuisine. Choices include the interesting Sambal Prawn Capellini, Kampot Black Pepper Beef & Rice, Fish Curry & Coconut Rice and Wok Fried Vermicelli with Prawns in Spicy Prawn Broth.

One of my favourites was the Sambal Prawn Capellini. After microwaved, the thin noodles had a nice soft texture, moist and flavourful; I wished it had been spicier. Prawns were crunchy and beautiful.

I also enjoyed the thick and rich fish curry gravy.

The MAC ready-to-eat meal boxes are dispensed from these giant vending machines that come with microwaves. These microwaves have numberings on them, where each number is tailored to that particular food item for the heating process.

We can simply select the items we want on screen and make payment (see image for payment modes) directly or scan the QR code to use the e-wallet credits. The e-wallet can be found in the KALMS app downloadable into our smartphones.

Many of us would have been familiar with KALMS when it last used to be a physical gift store. Now, they have evolved into delivering services and products via vending retail solutions from plush toys, gifts, jewellery, flowers and food toeven Segways.

Local brand, Her Jewellery, will also be showcasing their jewellery and timepieces embellished with certified Swarovski crystals in the vending machines. Drop by to take your pick too!
