Yun Nans – Chinese New Year Set Menus at Jewel Changi Airport (12% off Early Bird Promotion)

Following my previous gastronomic experience at Yun Nans, the year of the Rat will see Yun Nans unveiling eight Chinese New Year set menus catering for 4 to 10 diners. The CNY set menus will be priced from $268++ onwards and available between 13 January to 8 February 2020. 

Early bird promotion: Enjoy 12% off for any purchase of Yun Nans Yu Sheng and/or Prosperity Treasure Hot Pot from 13 January to 19 January 2020. Valid for dine-in only.

Kickstart the meal with an auspicious Lo Hei – Prosperity Salmon Yu Sheng 丰收三文鱼捞生 ($40.80/6 pax; $58.80/10 pax) and Prosperity Abalone Yu Sheng 鸿福鲍鱼捞生 ($68.80/6 pax; $88.80/10pax). Both types of Yu Sheng are adorably shaped as rats to symbolise the first animal of the Zodiac cycle.

Huat to a brand-new 2020 with the Yunnans Prosperity Treasure Hot Pot 盆满钵满 火焰聚宝盆菜 ($168/6 pax; $288/10 pax). Boiled for six hours using aged hen, aged duck, pork bones and aged dry-cured ham, the soup is velvety smooth and flavoursome. The pot of delicacies is filled with ingredients such as the Yunnan wheat pumpkin, pigskin, prawn, sea cucumber, abalone and Morchella (a highly prized mushroom).


One of the highlights from the CNY set menus is the Yunnan Cross-bridge Pork Ribs 仙风道骨 过桥山珍排骨. As its name suggests, the large slab of pork rib resembles an arch bridge and is covered entirely in various Yunnan mushrooms and sliced pork. Braised in Yun Nan’s special sauce, the meats have a sweet taste to them while the addictive slices of mushrooms surprise with a firm chew.

Another signature dish is the Golden Poached Rice with Seafood in Prawn Broth 五谷丰收 海鲜虾汤泡脆金米.

Contained within the pot are large prawns, clams and rice which have soaked up the essence of the bisque so much so that you wouldn’t want to waste any morsel of it. The crispy rice pops also add a crunchy texture to each bite.

Some other dishes featured in the set menus are the Stewed Chicken with Lemongrass 鸡声告旦 边境香茅焗鸡, Signature Steam Pot Chicken with Matsutake Mushrooms and Morchella 蒸蒸日上 汽锅羊肚菌松茸鸡汤, Traditional-style Steamed Silver Pomfret 富贵有余 古法蒸斗鲳 and Stir-fried Prawns with Asparagus and Macadamia Nuts 登峰造极 夏果芦笋炒虾球.

Depending on the set menus chosen, desserts may come in the form of the nutritious Double Boiled Pear with Golden Fungus, Snow Lotus and Red Dates, Chilled Black Glutinous Rice with Ice Cream 姹紫嫣红 and/or classic Gong Xi Fa Cai Pancake.
