Koriko Cafe 코리코 카페, Seoul – Kiki’s Delivery Service Themed Cafe in Yeonnam

Fans of Studio Ghibli films will recognise elements of Kiki’s Delivery Service in this themed cafe, Koriko Cafe 코리코 카페.

Situated in Yeonnam where many interesting cafes congregate, Koriko Cafe is an enchanting three-storey house away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It has another outlet in Jeju too.

The interior is beautiful and homely with a chilly rooftop in April’s weather.

There is a retail area selling Studio Ghibli merchandise such as plushies, keychains, collectibles and stationeries of popular characters like Totoro and Ponyo.

Be swept away by the dazzling array of Kiki’s Delivery Service themed mousse cakes, tarts, cookies, beverages and savoury pies.

Highlights include the Cookie Mug Tart KRW 8900, Bundt Cake KRW 6500, Jiji / Lily / Ribbon Mousse Cake (from KRW 18000) and Dutch Baby Pancake (from KRW 11800).

The Chocolate Banana Cookie Mug Tart KRW 8900 is an adorable mug-shaped tart layered with chocolate mousse. banana slices and cream.

While it looks fascinating, the tart and chocolate mousse are quite dry and tasteless. Moreover, the bananas seem to have been left out for too long such that they change colour.

On the other hand, the Americano KRW 5500 topped with a Jiji-shaped Coffee Ice Cube KRW 1000 is quite decent.
