Hokkaido Restaurant Genshiyaki Sukhumvit 26 is a must visit in Bangkok for its quality dishes and zestful service crew. The staffs are extremely welcoming with energetic, cheery greetings.
On top of the usual Japanese fare, there is a Hokkaido Oyster Menu where oysters are served in various ways and toppings. Special dishes like the Salted Sea Urchin Pudding THB 249 is limited to ten pieces per day while the Bomb Fried Oysters (THB 390 for two) is limited to three sets each for lunch and dinner. The Fresh Oyster topped with Hotate, Uni and Ikura THB 600 is an off the menu item. Sakoshi Bay oyster was used and including the toppings, everything was chilled and tasted fresh and delicious.
The Salted Sea Urchin Pudding came with sea urchin slices atop silky smooth pudding, and a side of sweet creamy sauce to be poured in.
The Bomb Fried Oysters were surprisingly huge and quite affordably priced. Each piece had about eight oysters inside and was paired with creamy egg mayonnaise, I think. Also, you can choose to luxe it up with some Ikura (THB 299 for 30 grams) and Uni (THB 1000 for 30 grams) too. It also came with a huge portion of shredded cabbage. This could easily be a filling meal.
The drink list is extensive. The Tomato Shochu THB 130 is refreshing and interesting. There is a promotion to add the restaurant on LINE and receive a complimentary cocktail too.
