Kotobuki Japanese Restaurant – Exclusive Uni/Sea Urchin Dishes & Dec Promos at One Raffles Place outlet
It’s all about the indulgence at Kotobuki Japanese Restaurant.
With seven outlets nationwide, Kotobuki specialises in Kanto cuisine served Izakaya style. The menu offers a wide variety, from fresh sashimi and sushi rolls to appetising donburis, unagi sets and more.
Exclusive to the outlet at One Raffles Place, diners can enjoy three special Uni dishes, namely the Uni Ikura Truffle Chawanmushi $18, Mini Toro Uni Ikura Don $40 and Uni Chirashi Bakumori Don $40.
Exclusive Uni Menu
The Uni Ikura Truffle Chawanmushi $18 is likened an elevated chawanmushi brimming with glistening fish roe and creamy lobes of sea urchin. Much to our delight, there is a layer of black truffle paste hidden beneath too.
What’s more, the steamed egg is silky smooth and perfect with the burst of fish roe.
The Mini Toro Uni Ikura Don $40 and Uni Chirashi Bakumori Don $40 comes recommended. Prices might seem hefty but the quality is not compromised. The Mini Toro Uni Ikura Don is simply a joy to have – crowned with a generous portion of fish roe alongside sea urchin and tuna. Equally breathtaking is the Uni Chirashi Bakumori Don, stacked with mountainous chunky and fresh sashimi cubes, fish roe and sea urchin.
December Unagi Set
Available during December, the Unagi Hitsumabushi & Anago Tempura $39.90 is another must-try. Have a taste of both fishes cooked in two ways. The unagi here is similar to the one I had raved about at Sho Yakitori & Sushi at Millenia Walk. The skin has a little crunch to it while the meat remains succulent.
The anago tempura, on the other hand, makes a special appearance in this December menu. It is fried till crispy and laced in a sweet sauce. This actually tasted sweeter than the unagi.
Yakitori
Yakitori and alcohol goes hand in hand.
Unwind at Kotobuki with these delectable skewers that start from $3 onwards.
Some choices comprise of the Tebasaki $4, Kagoshima Buta Bara $6, Asapara Maki $4, Tori Momo $3.50, Sasami Ume Shiso//Yuzu Kosho/Mentaiko Mayo $4, Tsukune Mentai $4.50 and Tsukune Cheese $4.50.
Boozes
There is no lack of alcoholic drinks at Kotobuki, from beers (check out for the happy hours too!), sake, umeshu, highball, wines and more. For something refreshing and easy-drinking, the Sake Sensation series offers the Kyoho Grape Sake Sensation $15 and Yuzu Sake Sensation $15 by the glass.
