Da Miao Hot Pot (Clarke Quay) – New Collagen Hotpot for supper till 3am

The hunt for hot pot at Clarke Quay is a neverending quest.

If you are craving for something comforting or spicy as can be, Da Miao Hot Pot is here to feed you till the wee hours of 3AM.

Opened two years ago, Da Miao Hot Pot impresses with its authentic Sichuan hot pot and culturally-rich decor. Every evening, diners can catch the Sichuan Face-changing Opera (also known as ‘Bian Lian’ in Mandarin), alongside Long Spout Tea performances with each order of the Eight Treasures Tea $5 or the Jasmine Tea $4.

Da Miao Hot Pot has recently launched the new Beauty Collagen Soup (Whole Soup Pot: $42, Yuan Yang Soup Pot: $32), which is creamy from the essence of collagen-rich ingredients used to prepare the broth. Have it alongside the signature Da Miao Special Spicy Soup (Whole Soup Pot: $22, Yuan Yang Soup Pot: From $20), made from an astounding 20 over different herbs and spices.

There’s absolutely no lack of spicy food if you are in a Sichuan restaurant. Do give it a go at the Spicy Beef $12 and Spicy Chicken Kidney $12 (with King Oyster mushroom cubes), both marinated in a Picante sauce and buried under an avalanche of chilli flakes for that fiery kick.

Other hotpot ingredients include the Australia Prime Beef $32, Marinated Black Pork $12, Sichuan-imported Bamboo Shoot Slice $6, Bamboo Fungus Shrimp Wrap $18 (where the shrimp pastes are impeccably wrapped in puffy sheets of bamboo fungus), Chef-cut Fresh Potato Slices $8 (which becomes extremely soft after cooked) and Seaweed Grass $6.

Dipping sauces at the DIY sauce bar goes at $4 per person. Make your own concoction with choices like the shacha sauce, laoganma, chilli padi,, spring onions, parsley and more.

The Spicy Shishamo $18 and Braised Pig Trotters $16 are some Sichuan specialties from Da Miao Hot Pot. The former features grilled shishamo, extremely flavourful from the addition of Sichuan peppercorns, red chilli peppers, fresh ginger and garlic.

Savour the Glutinous Rice Cake with Brown Sugar $6, a classic Sichuan dessert, and the interesting Ice Cream laced with Sichuan Peppercorn and Sichuan Peppercorn Oil $6. The latter, though, tastes more like vanilla ice cream and is not as spicy as expected.
