Matcha One 齊東店 – Taipei Dessert Cafe for Matcha Mont Blanc and Sakura Parfait

Matcha One 齊東店 is a Japanese dessert cafe in Taipei that offers an extensive selection of Matcha treats and drinks. The cafe is quite popular hence it is recommended to make reservation to avoid disappointment. There is a minimum spend per person too.

The cafe has the characteristics of a Japanese-style house and is compartmentalised for more privacy.

Matcha One’s signature Mont Blanc NT $580, available in flavours like Chestnut, Matcha. Strawberry and Sweet Potato, is a must-try.

Covered in a thick layer of noodle-like Matcha puree, is matcha ice cream and red bean paste. The matcha flavour is quite strong and bitter in taste. There are other choices for the filling, which include Original Cheese and Matcha Cheese.

The dessert is a sizeable portion and definitely for those who like the authentic taste of matcha without the artificial sweetness.

Some other matcha desserts on the menu include roll cake, mille crepe, cheesecake, pancake and wagashi, to name a few.

As I visited in May, it was the Sakura season and there were various sakura-related desserts.

One of which is the Macaron Strawberry Buffy NT $480. Served in a tall cup, it comprises of sweet and sourish sakura-infused jelly, topped with a swirl of matcha noodle, seasonal jellies and crunchy macaron.
