Mr. Holmes Bakehouse – Awesome Savoury Danish, Stuffed Cruffin & Flaky Croissant at Pacific Plaza

Hailed from San Francisco, Mr. Holmes Bakehouse has opened its first outlet in a corner of Pacific Plaza. The hipster bakery features a neon sign and splashes of pink across its outlet, as well as a bright pink packaging for orders of six viennoiseries.

Here, one can find the a great variety of baked goods from signature cruffins and croissants to stuffed donuts, danish and chunky cookies. There’s a good mix of sweet and savouries to satisfy cravings at any time of the day.

The highlight, Bacon Mac & Cheese $7, is no simple danish. It excites the tastebuds with a medley of red cheddar béchamel, creamy mac and cheese and bacon bits, which is then finished with herb-infused breadcrumbs and fresh chives. Another noteworthy contender is the French Onion Danish $7, also a savoury pastry that offers an addictive dollop of sweet onion relish and garlic béchamel, accompanied with a baked gruyere chip.

Fans of matcha would enjoy the Matcha Croissant $5 which boasts a rich matcha white chocolate coating over its flaky croissant. The Pistachio Mixed Berry Croissant $6.50 also makes a delightful treat with its generous spread of pistachio and tangy berry jam. Together with the German Chocolate Cruffin $6.50 which is filled with pecan, coconut shreds and chocolate cream, these hearty pastries are a joy to indulge in.
