NOWAFTER Cafe, Design Orchard – Blackmisu and Uji Matcha Einspanner

The latest trending cafe, NOWAFTER Cafe, is located at level three of Design Orchard. Spotting a minimalist, industrial-style decor, the drinks and food served here bear a similar (black and white) vibe.

There is a lift to the cafe. Otherwise, it is a long flight of stairs up.

The cafe is quite spacious. I dropped by on a Friday, around 1PM and it was almost full. Surprisingly, the seats are quite hard and not so comfortable after sitting a while.

Currently, the Blackmisu $13 is replacing the popular Charkey Bun $13 which will only be back from 1-14 September 2023.

The menu offers a selection of drinks and bakes. Signatures include the Uji Matcha Einspanner $9.50, Black Sesame Einspanner $9.50, Matcha Basque Cheesecake $10 and Sourdough Waffle Gelato $15.

There is a free Blackmisu pin with any order of Blackmisu. While stocks last.

Menu

The Blackmisu is fluffy soft and spongy. There is a hint of alcohol and the cream is light and smooth. It tasted more like a cake than tiramisu. Sadly, there isn’t any wow factor to warrant the price tag.

The Uji Matcha Einspanner comes with a dollop of thick, velvety smooth cream. The drink is unsweetened and has the slight bitterness of the matcha flavour. I thought that the flavour could be stronger.

As part of the opening special, there is a 10% off all beverages in the month of August.

The bill came up to $20 plus. There are better cafes (even offering fuller meals) in town at less than the cost.
