Pot Addiction 吃锅瘾 at Sun Plaza, Sembawang – Steamboat, BBQ & Mookata Buffet

Pot Addiction 吃锅瘾 is Singapore’s one of a kind International buffet that offers steamboat, BBQ and Mookata! North dwellers can finally rejoice at this new restaurant which has opened in the heartlands.

Conveniently located near Sembawang MRT, on the second floor of Sun Plaza, Pot Addiction 吃锅瘾 offers value for money steamboat, BBQ and Mookata buffet with prices starting as low as $15.90++ for adults and $8.90++ for children (full pricing at end of post).

Great choice of soup base

For steamboat, you can choose from the signature Tom Yum, Chicken, Mala, Laksa, Sukiyaki, Tonkotsu, Chicken Herbal and Mushroom. Hotpot is an extra $12 (max 4 pax to 1 hotpot), while Tom Yum Mookata only requires an extra $2 per pax to fully enjoy the experience!

Huge spread of Ingredients like seafood and meat

You can consider adding seafood such as prawns, scallops, clams, bamboo clams and squids to your steamboat or Mookata. I also heard that fishes will soon be made available in the near future.

 

Meat eaters will love the buffet spread which consists of a huge selection of meats in different marination. You can find Thai style Chicken, Spicy Chicken, Marinated Pork Collar, Pork Belly, Beef Bone and Ribeye on the buffet line.

The meat section was actually one of the popular spots where most of us always ended up at!

After BBQ-ing the meats, we found the meats to be generally more tender than most Korean BBQ in Singapore. Not to exaggerate, but the meats were indeed easier to chew on and tasty with the sauces on them.

At an additional $12, you can get a tray of either sliced lamb or premium beef.

We tried the beef slices in two ways, sukiyaki-ed and BBQ, and were pleasantly surprised by how tender the meats were. At $12, it was really worth your money for the quality and amount!

More steamboat items include the cute fishcakes, fishballs, meatballs, yong tau fu ingredients, kelp, spam, cheese tofu and so on. Notice that in the video (above), the spread is way better than what’s on the plate!

There is also a section loaded with vegetables, lettuces to wrap your meats in, mushrooms and fruits.

Those seeking a Korean experience at Pot Addiction 吃锅瘾 can indulge in the free-flow kimchi soup, kimchi pancake and braised pork belly. The pork trotters seems tempting as well.

Cheese add-ons indulgence

One of our favourite moments at Pot Addiction 吃锅瘾 was the CHEESE!

I would recommend to fork out an extra $3 to get a big bowl of cheese to dip your meats in. Made up of cheese like mozzarella and nacho, let it melt on the BBQ stove and you will get a portion of thick, gooey, molten cheese.

The combination of cheese with the meats was beautiful , sinfully delicious and addictive. We couldn’t help but scrap it down to the metal.

 

26+ sauces/ toppings for a Lok-Lok experience

Still not enough? Don’t worry. the 26+ sauce dip/ toppings would have you spoilt for choice. Some must-tries include the homemade Thai spicy sauce, satay sauce and seafood sauce.

We mixed and matched some of the sauces on our own. I had my personal favourite Thai spicy sauce with garlic, red chilli and parsley. The result was a spicy yet refreshing taste.

The satay sauce, on the other hand, was nutty with a roasted flavour. Definitely unique from the usual ones outside.

   

Crazy-low boozy promotion 

And I need my booze to enhance my meal even further!

Glad to know that Pot Addiction 吃锅瘾 is also having a beer and soju promotion with $5 Singha Beer, 2 x 640ml Qing Dao Beer at only $12 ++ and, Soju and Mak Ga Li Rice Beer at $12++ each.
