Premium Japan Farmers Market at Changi Airport Terminal 3

Changi Airport in Singapore is never lacking of good food. The recent opening of Singapore’s first Premium Japan Farmers Market at Changi Terminal 3 adds on to the food diversity. Now you can get your hands on fresh and quality produce directly imported from Japan and customise your own bento sets too!

Premium Japan Farmers Market is a joint collaboration between ADiRECT Singapore (premium Japanese food distributor in Singapore) and Zen-Noh International (one of Japan’s leading exporters of Japanese agri-products). This concept is proudly introduced to Singapore, catering to tourists and locals alike.

The official launch was held on 22nd September 2017.

Kagami Biraki 鏡開き was performed as part of the ceremony. The opening of the cask literally means good luck in their business.

And then we all got to drink a bit of sake as well. (That’s me in the press release photo!).

The sake had a very fragrant smell and flowed smoothly down the throat.

Japanese Ceremony – Taiko Drums Performance

There was an insightful sharing session of what the Premium Japan Farmers Market has got to offer – an array of Japanese products which you can’t easily get anywhere else in Singapore.

Some highlights include:

  • Kyoho grapes and Shine Muscat grapes
  • Quality Wagyu beef from Butchery by Meatlovers
  • Sake and Vinegar by Meatlovers
  • Wagyu, Saga Gyu, Tochigi Wagyu and Hokkaido Snow Beef from Zeh-noh
  • Japanese Rice Milk by Zeh-noh
  • Customisable bento sets from among 25 different dishes by GO-ZEN
  • Su+ (Black Vinegar drink) by ADiRECT

Good thing is that the produce will come with icy gel packs to retain the coolness and freshness.

Bento sets comprise of popular selections such as Wagyu, Snow Crabs, Scallops, Ikura and fruits.

I sampled some of the dishes and I have got to say that the Kyoho grapes definitely lives up to its name for its plump, juicy flesh with a touch/resemblance of wine taste.

A decent execution – the Hokkaido Ikura Salmon Roe over Japanese Niigata Rice simply can’t go wrong.

The most popular canapé was the Saga-gyu steak. Try it and you will know why!
