SIRI House at Dempsey Hill – An experimental Weekend Brunch & $12 fusion Cocktails

Hidden in a corner of Dempsey Hill, SIRI House brings to life the dining and drinking experience in Singapore. Embracing a lifestyle concept by Sansiri, Thailand’s most trusted full-service property developer, SIRI House boasts a bar replicated after a luxurious Sansiri apartment as well as an Art Space and Shop, showcasing curated works from Thai designers.

Every weekend, SIRI House encourages communal dining among friends and families through its small and large brunch plates. The dishes take on a playful twist, with interesting ingredient pairings. Complementing the meals are asian-inspired crafted cocktails, available only during brunch at $12 each.

The Arancini $21 is a must-try despite its steep price tag; from the crunchy panko breadcrumbs to the dashi-infused Japanese rice filling mixed with savoury chorizo paste and steamed Fremantle octopus for that extra bite, what comes next as a surprise is the hot melty mozzarella to seal the deal.

Another worthy contender is the Champion Roll $26, shaped like a bread bowl. I like that the sourdough is crusty yet soft within. It has been hollowed out and loaded with an egg, mushrooms, smoked bacon, asparagus, gouda and mozzarella.

While the Champion Roll is a safe bet for brunch, the open-faced Spring Toast $23 delivers a stronger taste profile that one might either like or dislike. It’s unique blend of goat cheese and sour cream over toasted sourdough reminds me of blue cheese.

Ingredient-loaded, the Unagi Risotto $32 makes a satisfying meal. The base is made up of rice cooked in burnt onion dashi and tomato consommé, the flavour further enhanced with buttery sautéed mushrooms and a grilled unagi slice in sweet soy sauce.

Some other highlights on the menu include the Katsu Burger $29 (layered with iberico pork ribeye patty, red cabbage and pickles), Crab Toast $24 and Bombolini $16 (assorted homemade doughnuts with cashew chocolate and berry jam ganache).

Happy Hour at SIRI House – Every Tuesday to Friday, 3-6PM, laze in the Terrace with a tipple or two and enjoy a complimentary set of toasted buns served with an amazing Mentaiko mayo dip and Ikura. Luxuriously creamy and umami, this enticing bar bite would make hearts melt.
