Spinelli Coffee in a Nutshell – From CBD to Suburban Mall at Our Tampines Hub
Many of us would have probably queued for the 1 for 1 Starbucks coffee, chilled at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, or even have a tea break at Joe & Dough. If you haven’t, you might still have walked past these outlets while shopping.
Spinelli Coffee may not ring a bell in many people. But do you know that there are currently 22 Spinelli stores in Singapore and they are still expanding? Mostly located in the CBD area such as Raffles Place, Marina Bay Financial Center and Changi Business Park, the consumer market is mainly working professionals.
But soon, a new outlet will be finally opened in the suburban mall at Our Tampines Hub – with bigger offerings exclusive to the outlet. The outlet will also have its first alfresco area that caters to a larger crowd and one-of-a-kind Cold Brew Soft Serve in Singapore!
Spinelli offers both coffee and tea, and creations known as Spins (coffee-blend) and Twists (non-coffee blend) with flavours like matcha and strawberry.
Besides beverages, food is as equally prized at Spinelli. There is a wide selection of cold and hot dishes, from the spin salads to gourmet wraps, sandwiches and lasagnaprepared fresh daily. Assorted pastries, puffs, muffins, cookies and cakes such as the Devil’s Chocolate Cake, Carrot Cake, signature White Chocolate Philly Cheesecake and Red Velvet Cake are sold over the counter too.
Whether it is for lunch, tea break or dinner, there are definitely choices for anytime of the day.
Kick start your day as early as 7:30am, where you can tap on breakfast sets at discounted prices. Available till 11am, tuck into Egg & Toast (scrambled eggs) complete with a regular latte at $8.60 or the Honey Mustard Tuna & Egg with a regular brewed coffee at $6.90.
More selections such as the Croque Monsieur and Ham & Cheese Waffle can be found in-store.
Every Tuesday and Thursday will entitle you to a lunch special promotion of $7 for the Beef Lasagna or Sundried Tomato Chicken with mashed potato. For quick lunches, the grab-and-go items are hot favorites, especially the Tandoori Chicken Wrap which is making a comeback due to high demand!
I adore the Chicken Kumara Pie, launched recently. It is a flakey pie served warm, and comes with a generous steamy filling of chopped chicken leg, mushrooms and red onion in a creamy sauce.
Launching soon in September are the Chicken Katsu Sandwich which would make you swoon at the juicy meats beneath crunchy crust and the Tomate Olive Bagel Toastie, similar to a pizza.
At Spinelli, you can sit back and dine healthy by relishing in guilt-free premium salad bowls. One of my favorites is the Quinoa Salad Bowl $9.80 which comes with two rounds of quinoa patty on a bed of leafy greens, cherry tomatoes and Japanese sliced radish. The other two salads include the Salmon Cobb Salad and Sundried Chicken Salad.
For an afternoon respite, head over to Spinelli for the Cake Pairing Set (with 12oz brewed coffee/tea $7.80 or 16oz brewed coffee/tea $8.30).
The most recent addition to the cake family is the Strawberry Shortcake $6.80, something you won’t see often in many places. Light sponge layered with smooth cream and sliced strawberries, the strawberry shortcake makes a light dessert, good for after meal too.
Chocolate lovers, like myself, love the Black White Brown and Devil’s Chocolate Cake. The former is likened a mousse cake with complementing layers while the later is rich and decadent. In fact, I had returned for the Black White Brown a couple of times! Another cake worth mentioning is the Red Velvet Cake too.
Moving on to the drinks, my go-to is the Matcha T-Twist ($6 for regular 12oz, $7 for large 16oz). The taste of Matcha is prominent and the base has bits of cranberry swirled in which caught me by surprise when I first had it. Besides being slightly on the sweeter side, I have no qualms with this.
Look out for brew of the month too which starts at $3.20 for a petite 8oz cup.
