Sustenance – Nutritious, Low-Calorie Meal Replacement Shakes with Extra-Rich Cacao & Acai flavours

Sustenance is a locally-owned company which offers carefully formulated, nutritious meal shakes. Stemming from the two founders unhealthy eating lifestyles, they decided to embark on a journey to develop ready-to-mix green smoothie shakes for others like themselves too.

People opt for meal replacements for various reasons. They could be too busy to cook, facing difficulty in adhering to the recommended food pyramid or simply looking to shed some pounds with a fixed meal plan.

Sometimes its about commitment, but there are times when we lack the motivation and resources to eat well.

Just recently, I tried the Sustenance Starter Kit $41.50 which comes with five sachets, comprising of the essential nutrients (dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients) we need. Ingredient mix in the pack include organic seeds, brown rice, oats, spirulina, various vegetables and more.

The preparation of the meal shake is fuss-free. For first-time orders, you will get a free shaker bottle to use for the shakes.

The QR code at the back of the pack can be scanned to get the ingredient information and preparation instructions too.

For the ones I had, I only need to mix one pack with 300ml of water, and shake well. Each shake is estimated to keep one full between three to five hours. To achieve a fuller status, you can also replace water with soy milk and almond milk.

I quite enjoy the Extra-Rich Cacao flavour, mainly because I like its dark chocolate taste which makes it tastier. On the other hand, the Acai Burst has a milder açai flavour in it. I had initially thought that the oat taste would be too overpowering, but it is surprisingly well-balanced as a result of many other ingredients in it. Perhaps I could be a little more experimental next round and blend it with another fruit like banana!

I like the convenience of a meal replacement and to feel assured that I have at least one meal of the day made up of the essential nutrients.
