The Frangipani Garden Bistro – Boldly flavoured Northern Indian dishes meet handcrafted cocktails (Dempsey Hill)
Dine in lush greenery at The Frangipani Garden Bistro where traditional Northern Indian dishes are met with handcrafted cocktails.
We had several snacks and mains, all of which boost richly seasoned meats accompanied with creamy bright sauces.
Some of my favourites include the Frangipani’s Chasers and Chunks of Mughla.
Presented in four shooters, the Frangipani’s Chasers comprises of deep fried crispy balls filled with chat masala and fish stuffing which are to be savoured with appetite-pleasing shots – Jaljeera & Tamarind and Chilled Tomato Shot. The combination is interesting. Cocktail Pairing: Appletini
The Chunks of Mughla consists of six grilled pieces of yogurt-marinated cottage cheese. It tasted spice-loaded and had a firm texture, almost like a fried beancurd. Cocktail Pairing: Lychee Martini
Perfect for sharing, the Lamb Aranchini Rice Ball is something many would be familiar with. The breaded balls were well-fried with crispy edges while the rice within remained fluffy and warm. The slow cooked lamb wrapped inside was slightly on the tough side though. Cocktail Pairing: Espresso Martini
Another side is the Roti Pe Poti which features sweetly marinated duck bits served on mini naan. Cocktail Pairing: Frangipani’s Impression

The Frangi’s Pardanashin Chicken Biryani comes with naan roti baked over the pot. Break it apart to reveal a hearty portion of aromatic Basmatic biryani rice and meat chunks. Cocktail Pairing: Strawberry Daiquiri
Last but not least, the Peshwari Little Baa Baa, also grilled lamb chops, is spiced up with a blend of raw papaya, garlic, ground chilli, fennel and cream, giving it a bold intense flavour. Cocktail Pairing: Pina Colada
