Tsuta Singapore – 1-for-1 Tonkotsu Ramen Launch Promotion from 20 to 22 December 2019

Brace yourselves: a trio of tonkotsu flavours will be launched at Tsuta Singapore this Friday! Comprising three mouth-watering broths, Chef Yuki Onishi’s latest creations are free of MSG and artificial flavourings, allowing diners to indulge their ramen cravings guilt-free.

The launch of Tsuta’s tonkotsu ramen has been a long time coming. In the three years since its first store opening in Singapore, the world’s first Michelin-starred ramen joint has remained steadfast in its commitment to serving exclusively shoyu and shio ramen. And after a full year of over two hundred trials and experimenting, Chef Yuki Onishi has finally perfected the art of umami that is so important to tonkotsu ramen!

Tsuta’s tonkotsu line-up comprises three renditions of this Japanese staple: tonkotsu, kurobishio tonkotsu, and a mala tonkotsu that was concocted just for local palates.

And in conjunction with its new menu, Tsuta is also offering 1 for 1 ramen for the three new flavours this weekend (20-22 December 2019) at all outlets (excluding Jewel Changi Airport!).

Diners can also follow and tag @tsutasingapore on Instagram to stand a chance at winning $50 worth of dining vouchers from 20 to 30 December 2019. The best post will be chosen at the end of each day!

The Tonkotsu Soba is set to be the crowd favourite, with a collagen-rich broth made from premium pork bone and trotter boiled for no less than five hours. The inviting aroma of the dish is amplified by the hearty slice of pork, along with Hokkaido kelp and shiitake mushroom. Simple, yet delicious and hearty. I can say for sure this is one of the best tonkotsu dishes I’ve tried!

Diners can also opt for the more intensely flavoured Kurobishio Tonkotsu Soba, also known as “mayu”, or black garlic oil. The spicy black pepper and burnt garlic add a notable punch to the broth, with the homemade black pepper minced pork and fried garlic chips adding more crunch and flavour. This rendition of tonkotsu ramen certainly does not hold back!

Finally, enjoy a marriage of Japanese and Chinese flavours with the Mala Tonkotsu Soba. Overall, there is a good balance between the rich tonkotsu and the spicy mala, though it may pack quite a punch for spice novices. The infamous numbing sensation one normally associates with mala has been kept to a minimum, so as to allow diners to enjoy the ramen to the fullest.

All thee bowls are customisable, so you can adjust the levels of saltiness and spiciness – even the texture of the noodles to your liking.
