Yakiniku Like – Affordable Japanese BBQ Restaurant in Paya Lebar Quarter offers Individual Grills for Solo Dining

Solo dining gets such a bad rep at times, which is a shame because of all the underrated perks that come with it, such as being able to focus on your food without being interrupted by small talk.

Here to dispel stereotypes and lingering BBQ smells is Yakiniku Like, a specialty fast food yakiniku restaurant that serves up quality meats and delicious cuts at nett price. With over 30 branches scattered across Asia, this new outpost at Paya Lebar Square will be their first in Singapore.

Mouthwatering selections include karubi (beef short plate), harami (beef skirt steak), prime karubi (boneless short rib), and marbly wagyu (Grade A4 and above). For non-beef eaters, pork belly, pork jowl, and chicken thigh are available for the taking. All imported from Australia and the USA for maximum quality and taste!

Grill it just the way you like it with a small, nifty grill that does not emit any smoke at all, so you can walk out without the aromatic evidence lingering on your clothes. With prices starting from $7.80 for a set inclusive of meat, Yakiniku Like’s food embodies the principles of taste, speed, and quality for reasonable prices.

With almost every set boasting an enticing tagline, along with the cuts served (think AAA Top Quality Choice, Unbeatable Price, and the like), it’s really easy to be spoilt for choice. The self-touted No.1 Choice, the LIKE Set, offers up mouthwatering selections of beef tongue, skirt steak, and beef short plate. While the Singapore Exclusive boasts a trio of beef short plate, pork jowl, and chicken thigh, for diners seeking a little variety in their meal.

My personal favourites are the beef tongue and beef short plate, which are thinly cut and cook quickly – good news if you’re feeling ravenous! The skirt steak is well-marinated, and richly- flavoured on its own. For the ultimate indulgence, the wagyu serves you well with its beautifully marbled cuts.

No BBQ is complete without a delicious sauce. Take it to the next level with Yakiniku Like’s house sauces, which include Original BBQ, Garlic Soy, Sea Salt, and Spicy Miso. The slightly sweet aftertaste of the Japanese sauces compliments the umami notes of the meat perfectly. Singaporeans can also indulge their cravings for local flavours with the exclusive Garlic Chilli.

In celebration of their inaugural launch in Singapore, Yakiniku Like is offering its best-selling set meal, the Karubi Set (200g) for $2.90 on 3 February. It’s a clever wordplay on the word “niku”, which sounds like “2” and “9” in Japanese!
