Air Itam Market Annex Food Court, Popular Penang Assam Laksa Bisu

Air Itam Market Annex Food Court might seem a distance away from George Town but is a good pitstop between the bustling city area and Penang International Airport. If you are visiting Kek Lok Si Temple in the vicinity, this is the place to fill your hungry bellies before heading to your next destination.

Many would have known that there are two really popular laksa stalls here. Laksa Bisu is located in the Air Itam Market Annex Food Court while the other laksa stall is located across the road. At first glance, both stalls have an equally good number of supporters that day.

I went for the Laksa Bisu which features a bowl of piping hot noodles in sweet and sourish broth. I loved the noodles instantly; it’s plump and slightly chewy, yet soft.

Topped with shredded cucumbers, chopped onions, tamarind and a layer of mackerel bits, it didn’t disappoint in flavour and taste. Despite the presence of the sliced chilli, it is also not spicy at all.

Portion is just nice for some extra stomach space for chendol nearby too.
