劍潭榮宗麵線, Taipei – Traditional Taiwanese Intestine & Oyster Mee Sua near Jiantan Station
The famous 劍潭榮宗麵線 Jiantan Jung Tsung Noodle has been around since 1990. The humble eatery is situated by the roadside, in an old neighbourhood and about a nine minutes’ walk from Jiantan station. Nearby, there is the popular Shilin Night Market which is also within walkable distance.
The menu is simple. There are Plain Mee Sua (NT $35 Small, NT $45 Large), Intestine Mee Sua (NT $50 Small, NT $70 Large), Oyster Mee Sua (NT $50 Small, NT $70 Large) and Mixed Intestine and Oyster Mee Sua (NT $50 Small, NT $70 Large).
I had the mixed version and the portion is just nice.
The gooey noodle is accompanied with large pieces of juicy oysters and chewy pork intestines. The taste is light hence you might want to add in some chilli, garlic and vinegar that are available on the side. It is a warm, comforting bowl of mee sua for anytime of the day.
The place is well-kept and clean. There is tissue on the table for customers too. The staff is quite friendly.
