Jingimoo 金雞母, Taipei – Creme Brûlée Matcha Shaved Ice Dessert Cafe in Yongkang

Jingimoo 金雞母 has two outlets, one at Dongmen and another at Yongkang.

The dessert cafe serves shaved ice in various flavours. I visited the outlet at Yongkang on a Monday afternoon. It got packed quickly upon opening. The sky was scorching hot and it was pleasantly cooling to sit inside and indulge in some sweet desserts.

The shaved ice comes in flavours such as Taiwan Mango, Matcha and Rose & Raspberry. There is the creme brûlée series like Creme Brûlée Matcha NT $240 and Creme Brûlée Tiramisu NT $250.

Other desserts available include the Matcha Ice cream Dessert NT $190 which features an assortment of matcha items, Croissant x Waffle ‘sandwich’ and Affogato NT $190.

The Creme Brûlée Matcha Shaved Ice is topped with a dollop of creme brûlée, torched at the table by the staff! That gives it a thin, crispy and slightly burnt caramelised layer on the surface.

Below it is a mountain of matcha-infused shaved ice with a surprise within – red bean, matcha jellies and chewy dango.

It melts fast so one would have to consume quickly!
