Noordin Street Starbright Coffee in Penang for Old School Kopi

Along Noordin Street, there is a pushcart that sells your local coffee (kopi) or tea (teh). On closer look, it might seem unassuming but images of this mobile stall have been circulating the net lately.

Named as Starbright Coffee, the stall sells a list of old school coffee and tea, alongside some special concoctions such as Kopi + Milo, Milo + Nescafe and even intriguing combinations like Kopi + Teh + Milo + Nescafe!

Prices are neatly printed and laminated. The menu is really straight forward and there’s option for hot, ice and takeaway.

I had the Iced Kopi Susu (Milk Coffee) for takeaway RM2.5. I thought it was a rather huge portion that they gave, filled right to the brim and firmly secured with a string.

The Kopi Susu was superbly smooth and delicious. It was sweet but not overwhelming, and there was a slight bitter aftertaste which didn’t linger.

I passed by this stall five days in a row as my hotel was just across the road. There was always a queue in the afternoon and I have noticed many customers stopped by in their car just for the coffee.

The stall closes about evening time.
