Paddyfolks at Funan – Flavoured Rice Box with Hainanese Chicken & Five Spice Duck

Paddyfolks is very much unlike the usual rice box meal you would find elsewhere. Just the combination of specialty rice creations with Asian-flavoured meats is enough to draw eyeballs and make tongue salivate.

Officially opened at the newly furnished Funan Mall, Paddyfolks will be having an exclusive 1-for-1 Paddyfolks Rice Box promotion all-day long till 30 June 2019.

If you are one to look for healthy lunch options and post-gym meals, Paddyfolks is your go-to takeaway/dine-in kiosk. Prices start from $9.90 for regular (1 protein) portion to $12.90 for medium (2 proteins) and $15.90 for large (3 proteins).

Following the DIY concept, you get to choose your choice of proteins between the chicken (e.g. lemongrass, teriyaki grilled, original fried), duck (e.g. thyme, mala) and the superbly soft silken tofu.

For carbs, the hom mali grade Jasmine rice is nicely flavoured in Cilantro Lime, Garlic Butter, Tomato Oregano or Tom Yum. The infusion of herbs and spices are what made the rice even tastier.

After which, slide in a sous vide egg or shoyu egg, fruits or vegetables to make up your supplements and then your choice of sauce and garnishes.

The chilli accompaniment is another highlight and goes well really well with the pairing.

There’s the chicken rice chilli to go with that succulent strips of Hainanese-styled chicken or that not-so-spicy Lao Gan Ma Chilli with flavoursome five-spice duck.

Interestingly, some additions you can find in your rice box also include the seasoned seaweed, fried shallots, kidney beans and chickpeas.
