Spicy Chilli/Curry Crab Recipe – Fast and Easy Home Cooked Meals
I love seafood. And by preparing them at home, be it for hotpot, BBQ, grilled, stir fried or steamed, it is definitely way cheaper than eating out. Plus, I get to mix and match whichever ingredients I want and cook the way I like it, all in the comforts of my home. Of course, the preparations may be the long; the cleaning up process may be troublesome.
But hey, cooking should be a very fun thing. So if you find yourself furrowing over the amount of work just to eat a meal, but you still want a budget-friendly stay-home dine in dinner, you can try hotpot – just buy the ingredients and sit as a family to cook together!
Speaking of hotpot, I would probably post about it one day. But today, I will be cooking Curry Crabs!
And it is really simple and easy to prepare. You don’t have to use fancy ingredients and you can adjust it according to your taste and preferences! My recipe is not the best, but you can use this as a stepping stone to get you started. If you are someone who have only cooked Maggie Mee in your entire life, I would embrace you with open arms. If you have been cooking for years, please feel free to share some tips with us!
Ingredients:
- 3 flower crabs – Washed, Cleaned, Cut
- Garlic
- Oil
- Lady Finger
- Curry Paste
The reason why I am using an instant curry paste is because I got this from one of the recipe books (titled as the Best of the Best Series Cookbook). If you got your homemade curry paste, please use. If not, you can look out for those in the supermarkets, especially those with a ‘healthier choice label’ stuck on the packaging for the health-conscious.
Honestly I think instant paste are rather good as well for those who don’t have the luxury of experimenting new curry flavours and who want a fuss-free solution. Some of these pastes in the market are in fact quite tasty too.
If you have watched the video, this could refresh your memory.
Simple steps:
- Add oil and wait for it to heat up
- Add garlic
- Add lady finger
- Add curry paste and stir all together
- Pour in the flower crabs
- Stir until the crabs are evenly coated with the curry sauce
It will take roughly 10 minutes for the shell to turn orange and the crab to be ready for consumption!
And ta-dah! Easy right? Yummm I am so hungry looking at this now!
