Surya Cafe Grill Seafood Specialities Tanjung Benoa is a seafood restaurant surrounded by the sea and various water sport activities in the area.

The restaurant is hidden at the end of a walkway and boosts a spacious indoor seating and an alfresco. It is good to sit outdoor where you can observe the planes flying by and fun activities like parasailing, flying fish and jet ski.

There are live seafood such as mantis, prawns, clams and fish, that can be prepared in various ways – steamed, deep fried and grilled.

They are available in half or one kilogram, where the latter comes with potato wedges, steam rice and vegetables.

Menu

The Mantis (IDR 425K for 1/2KG, IDR 850K for 1KG) is quite meaty for half a kilogram. It is grilled till crispy at the edges while the inside remains succulent.

Enjoy the sea view with a Coconut IDR 35K too.

The highlight of the meal is the Clam (IDR 62.5K for 1/2KG, IDR 125K for 1KG). The clam meats are plump and juicy. I had them two ways – Grilled in Surya Cafe Sauce (not very spicy) and Steamed (this is tasty, albeit slightly oily).

As both portions make up 1KG, it comes with complimentary sides which are rather generous. Moreover, the vegetables are crunchy and refreshing while the potato wedges are served hot and crispy.

This is quite a steal for the price.
