L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon 侯布雄法式餐廳, Taipei – Two Michelin Star Restaurant in Bellavita Shopping Mall

L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon is a two Michelin-starred French restaurant in Taipei. Located at level five of high-end Bellavita Shopping Mall, the famous restaurant delivers elevated French classics and desserts, over curated wines and craft cocktails, in an elegant black and red setting.

Reservations can be made via inline where patrons may choose between counter seat and high table.

The restaurant boasts a cosy ambience and my seat at the high table allows for an uninterrupted dining experience.

Service is swift and impeccable.

Patrons may enjoy dishes in tasting portions, as a la carte mains, or from designed set menus. There is also a vegetarian set option.

As it was during the Mother’s Day period when I visited, the festive set menu replaced the usual tasting set menu which I had wanted to try.

Menu

Prior to my visit, I have heard that L’Atelier De Joel Robuchon’s breads and mashed potato are iconic.

The bread basket is indeed full of deliciousness.

The signature Le Caviar NT $2580 looks and tastes divine. The exquisite dish features succulent snow crab in crustacean jelly, crowned with glistening oscietra caviar and speckles of smooth cauliflower puree.

Also a tasting dish, the La Grenouille NT $1080 is an interesting trio of mini frog leg croquettes, accompanied with black and white garlic puree. Bite into crispy thin skin and be rewarded with a burst of piping hot juiciness from within.

For mains, the La Caille NT $1580 presents a hearty and flavourful free-range quail, elevated with creamy foie gras stuffing. Another highlight here is the dollop of smooth and buttery whipped potato puree which is simply savoury on its own. Definitely warrants an extra serving.
