Paddy Hills Singapore – Beautiful Cafe for Brunch everyday near NUS

Paddy Hills is a quaint cafe located near Haw Par Villa MRT. Surrounded by landed estates and NUS in the vicinity, it is no wonder that this place is popular among expats and young adults.

Opened for three years, Paddy Hills remained popular for its brunch with an interesting take on asian-inspired European cuisine. This is the place where your scrambled eggs get a colourful boost, and your risotto can taste like ramen. Tuck into these creations such as the Ramen Risotto $24, Eggs on Eggs $17, 黑Rice $24 and Croissant Brekkie Burger $24.

There were three starters and what caught my eye was the Cauliflower Fritters $13. We got a bowl of 200gm fried cauliflowers dusted in some spices and sprinkles of aonori. They were crunchy and best dipped into the kimchi mayonnaise which further elevated the flavours.

Another item recommended to us was the Maple Fried Chicken $15 that comes with Belgium waffle and coffee syrup.

The Clams & Mussels $27 was more than just a seafood pot. The fleshy white slabs of mackerel were generous servings atop a bed of tri colour cous cous shaped thicker then the ones we usually had.

A light tasting broth was poured table-side until it touched the surface of the cous cous. Dug deeper and you would find pieces of plump juicy clams alongside de-shelled mussels.

It tasted very healthy and nutritious, of course!

Grass Fed NZ Ribeye $28 was a hearty meal served with malt vinegar and viking salt fries.

The hunks of meats drenched seductively in red wine jus peeked through a forest of kale chips. While the beef could be a tad more tender, the kale chips stole the limelight with its paper-thin crispy texture that was tastefully addictive.

Dessert was an edible garden which was pretty self-explanatory compared to Berry Ball $17.

There was a multitude of flavours (and colours) in there with the green seedless grapes, strawberries, summer berries compote, compressed cucumber ribbons, edible flowers and a block of vanilla ice cream. It was refreshing with hints of acerbity, fruity sweetness and textural crumbs.

We had two quenchers – Feels like Summer $8 and Bubbly Yuzu $8 where the former featured a fancy bubble head that instantly took my heart away.
