RedDot BrewHouse – Craft Beer, Live Band & Cosy Brunch in Dempsey Hill

RedDot BrewHouse is a name that will ring a bell in many. Established since 2007 in Dempsey Hill, followed by a second outlet in Boat Quay in 2010, RedDot BrewHouse has been one of those go-to gastro pubs for beer, food and live band. While the Boat Quay outlet is largely accessible to office crowds around the area, the Dempsey Hill outlet gives off a cosy vibe as it snugs atop a hill away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

As night falls, the restaurant is shrouded in the warmth of fairy lights as a live band sings over conversations and food through the weekends.

Beers are a must-order here from the classics to flavoured ones such as the spirulina-infused Monster Green Lager and RedDot Lime Wheat. New taps are also available for a limited time period with the current four standing at White Stout 4%, Yuzu Weisse 4%, Barley Wine 6.8% and Green Tea Ale 4.5%.

The bar bites are good for sharing and you might want to get the Ham Croquette $12 that comes with drizzles of spicy brava sauce and a dash of alioli. They are best eaten hot when the fillings remained creamy and moist.

We had more hot tapas for the table such as the Gambas $10, Wagyu Meatballs $10, White Wine Clams $10, and Garlic Mushrooms $7 which was exceptionally tasty and juicy. The Gambas, however, would do better with larger fresh prawns.

Don’t miss the RedDot Chicken Fagra $13, where each piece of chicken is coated in a numbingly spicy blend of herbs and spices that closely resemble the Sichuan mala. If you can take heat seriously, here’s the wings to get your appetite up.

Straight off from the charcoal grills is the Satay $20, comprising of a mix of 12 sticks of Chicken. Beef and Pork, plus a side of onions, cucumber and peanut and pineapple sauce.

There are also heartier mains like the Rib-eye Steak $33, Lamb Rack $35 and RedDot Beer Sausage $25 to round up your evening.

The Okonomiyaki Seafood $23 is actually a stone oven pizza with homemade dough made from RedDot beer! It’s thinly crusted and crispy at the edges. Generously spread with okonomiyaki sauce and other ingredients, each slice warrants bites of prawns and squids in between fluttery bonito flakes and shredded nori.

The Spaghetti Seafood Aglio Olio $24 is another beer-infused dish with no lack of seafood here. The squids, clams and prawns crowned the pasta that’s cooked till al dente, accompanied with the faint bitterness of the beer broth.

RedDot’s new Garden Brunch comprises of several beautifully plated dishes like the Smoked Salmon Salad $18, Iberico Ham on Toast $18  and Smoked Duck Breast $20.

The Iberico Ham on Toast is an interesting rendition of the eggs benedict where instead of poach eggs, a huge fried egg laid across two slices of toast, then finished with garnishes of pomegranate, olives, edible flowers and the Iberico ham as the main highlight.

If not, have the classic RedDot Burger $22 layered with freshly ground beef, mouth-watering bacon strips, cheese, sweet onion relish, tomato, lettuce and homemade special sauce. You can’t go wrong with this combination.

Another favourite of mine is the Pandan Panna Cotta $10. I love the texture which is somewhat like a cross between a mousse and custard.
