S Box Sukhumvit Hotel, Bangkok – Affordable budget hotel that’s clean and accessible to many locations
During my visit to Bangkok in February this year, I checked into S Box Sukhumvit Hotel. It cost about $38 per night and I stayed there for five days.
S Box Sukhumvit Hotel is surrounded by many nice restaurants, cafes (like ICI Bangkok) and bars nearby, as well a 7-11 and several mini marts. It is also a few minutes walk from EmQuartier (for shopping and Michelin-recommended Pang Cha Cafe) and BTS Phrom Phong Station (to town area). I have also taken a walk further down to the popular Rung Rueang Pork Noodle stall for breakfast. The hotel also offers complimentary daily breakfast.
Check-in time is at 3PM and there were many tourists before me during check-in. It would be good to arrive an hour later.
As its name suggests, the rooms seemed to be built boxy in size. My room is Box 6.0 with a King-sized bed. The walkway might be slightly squeezy for two but for myself, it is alright. The interior looks clean, airy and modern, with all the necessities one can ask for – mini fridge, coffee/tea, toiletries, slippers, water bottles and working TV (with a wide variety of international channels).
Room service is available daily and wi-fi works well.
The power socket here is different from that in Singapore. So, do bring an adaptor, or you can get one at Power Mall, Emporium Department Store. I actually searched through 7-11 and the mini marts but to no avail.
The bed is clean and firm.
The toilet is well-furnished and wide. I like that there is enough shampoo and soap to use (instead of those meagre bottles).
Overall, it is a great choice to have chosen S Box Sukhumvit Hotel. It might seemed like a budget hotel but the quality is top-notch. I also like the location for its accessibility and easy traffic.
