Spice Brasserie: Endless Crabs Party Buffet Dinner At PARKROYAL Kitchener Road
Once considered a luxury, crabs are now more readily available to the masses. Speaking of crabs, many Singaporeans would find it irresistible and some would go as far as naming our Chilli Crab as a national food. So how would an all-crab feast sounds like to us? Definitely a party!
With up to 12 crab dishes of different flavours served on the buffet line, Spice Brasserie at PARKROYAL Kitchener Road is one restaurant you shouldn’t miss out. The well-received crabs buffet is back this season, getting bigger, better and bolder in varieties and flavours.
From 1st May to 30th July 2017, indulge in a Crabilicious night where you will be introduced to eight new crab dishes on top of the rest on the buffet line which also involves a selection of seafood on ice, sashimi, local and asian cuisine, desserts and free-flow of tea and coffee.
Each diner also receives a complimentary half serving of flame-grilled Mentaiko Lobster.
Endless Crabs
One highlight is the Wok Fried Crab in Wu Jia Pi Wine prepared from a family recipe passed down to Executive Chef Low Hoe Kiat. Made of herbs such as Dang Gui and Wolfberry, with Wu Jia Pi Wine, Coriander and Ginger, you can expect a tasty marriage of ingredients.
Not only did the dish smelt heavenly, it had a distinct unique flavour which brought nods to the table.
Another interesting dish is the Stir Fried Crab with Jalapeños with crab meats punctuated with sauce such that each bite was filled with juiciness.
The Salted Egg Crab with Curry Leaves was well-executed with thick creamy salted egg sauce coating the crab perfectly.
Back by popular demand and a crowd-favourite as well is the Bee Hoon Crab. What I loved about this pot of awesomeness was how tasty the rice vermicelli had become from soaking up the crab essence.
While it may look typical, the Bee Hoon Crab had such a captivating taste which made diners dashed for it the moment it was refilled. This is a definitely must-try.
Only at Spice Brasserie can you savour the Slow Braised Pumpkin Crab in Claypot. I particularly enjoyed this as it was made to order and served pipping hot. Each pot came with half a crab drenched in a lusciously smooth yellow-golden gravy. And I would even use the breads to mop up every morsel of the soup because it was that delicious.
Not forgetting the Cheesey Crab Cake which is a new addition consisting of bite-size fried balls stuffed with a myriad of ingredients (potato, celery, crab meat, carrot, cheese and nutmeg).
Some other crab flavours include the famous Chilli Crab, Black Pepper Crab, Rock Salt Baked Crab and Steamed Crab too. There will surely be enough to keep you crabbing clapping away!
Complimentary Mentaiko Lobster
For the Endless Crabs Party Buffet Dinner, each diner is also entitled to one complimentary half serving of flame-grilled Mentaiko Lobsters.
Other buffet highlights
Includes seafood on ice such as mussels and prawns. There are also sashimi, sushi, a Teochew Porridge counter and a selection of cakes, tarts and ice cream to choose from.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal feasting on countless flavours of crabs. At Spice Brasserie, this is your only chance to savour that much varieties at one go without burning a hole in your wallet.
Given the usual price of ala carte crabs in outside restaurants (which can cost more than what you are paying here), this buffet is definitely well worth every penny comparatively 🙂
