Supply & Demand New Menu items – Indomie Goreng Fries, Avocado Pizza, Squid Ink Pasta & more

Supply and Demand has been one of Singapore’s stalwart cafes since its opening in 2014, having stood the test of time against the ever-changing cafe scene. One of the secrets of its success lies in frequent updates to the menu to continuously tantalise customers, all while remaining consistent in its food and service.

The latest additions to Supply and Demand’s menu brings a myriad of Western brunch classics paired with Asian flavours, as well as more uncommon dishes that will nevertheless whet diners’ appetites.

Joining Supply and Demand’s ever famous Thick Cut Truffle Fries are two Asian-infused communal fries, the Okonomiyaki Sweet Potato Fries ($13/ $18) and Indomie Goreng Fries ($12/ $17).

Served in a mess tin and enamel plate respectively, both presentations exuded decadence and nostalgia. While the former presents a well-balanced union of sweet and savoury flavours, the latter could do with less of the sweet Kecap Manis, which overpowered the Indomie powder-covered thick cut fries.

A traditional Italian appetiser, the Beef Carpaccio ($15) is vibrantly coloured and perfect for indulging on a languid weekend. Thinly-sliced beef tenderloin is garnished with watercress and yuzu wasabi to make a richly flavoured communal dish. Plus points for the smattering of purple and yellow flowers petals that add colour to it!

Another noteworthy addition is the Peach and Parma Ham Crostini ($14), served with mascarpone cheese and shaved Grana Padono and drizzled with balsamic sauce to make a delicious bite-sized snack.

Sweet meets savoury in the Baked Brie ($17), which features a whole wheel of oven-baked brie drizzled with honey and topped with roasted rosemary, almond flakes, and crumble. Tuck in immediately to enjoy the most of this gooey, melted delight!

Since Supply and Demand styles itself as a “modern Italian Trattoria and pizzeria” on its menu, it was time to put its traditional Italian dishes to the test.

The Nero De Seppia with Seared Scallops ($19/ $29) is a seafood lover’s dream with al dente squid ink pasta cooked in garlic with a splash of white wine, homemade broth, and cherry tomatoes for extra colour and flavour. Fnished with cream, butter parsley and shaved Grana Padano, this simple, yet classic dish is easy to enjoy. With a little more plump scallops, this would be a perfect entree.

In contrast, the Proscuitto E Funghi ($16/ $21) is much richer and creamier, almost a tad too much. The Parmesan cheese-infused cream sauce quickly fills you up, with the added savouriness coming from the mushrooms, sautéed parma ham, and bacon.

The pizzas do live up to expectations. Vegetarians will delight in the Avocado E Pesto ($25/ $29), a savoury amalgamation of garlic cream sauce, aregano, mozzarella, sliced red onions, fresh avocado, rucola, and cherry tomatoes drizzled with pesto sauce.

The Seared Beef with Pear Pizza ($25/ $29) is more richly flavoured, with perfectly seared beef cubes complimenting the trio of gorgonzola, taleggio, and raclette cheese used to make the pizza base.

Check out the ongoing oyster promotion at $2 per oyster with every order of a drink too! Available at Supply and Demand at Orchard Gateway. Terms and conditions apply.
