Soi Thai Soi Nice’s Lobster Phad Thai & Seafood Hotpot from New Seafood-centric Menu, New JEM Outlet

Soi Thai Soi Nice’s newest outlet at JEM has been welcomed with a menu fished from the sea. Pivoting towards an almost all seafood-diet appeal, the menu boasts an amazing selection of dishes bearing soft shell crab, scallop, clam, oyster and fish while not forgetting the signature seafood hotpot.

The revamped menu is available island-wide, at the other two outlets Alexandra Central and The Seletar Mall too!

Introducing the Premium Thai Hotpot ($88.80S, $108.80M, $128.80L), the small pot is good for sharing among two to three pax.

Make way for a hearty meal with ramen noodles flanked on the side by an abundance of oceanic gems and classic ingredients such as the half-shelled scallops, prawns, fried soft shell crab, sliced sausages, pork belly, enoki mushrooms, cabbages and egg.

There is also a choice of either Tom Yum (with four spicy level) or Fish broth to which we chose to have a mildly spicy Tom Yum broth.

Kissed by the umami laden and richly flavoured broth, I was hooked instantly at a tasty concoction with just the right touch of acidity and heat to bring out the sweetness of the seafood. Don’t be embarrassed to ask for refills of the broth.

Feeling indecisive, flip to Soi Thai Soi Nice’s Signature Top 10 recommends where you see mouth-watering images of the Crispy Oyster Fried ($13.90S, $20.90M), Braised Duck Feet Noodle $10.90, Breaded Prawn Cakes ($11.90S, $16.90M) and more.

One of the must-tries, Waterfall Seabass $32.90, was well received at the table. The fish was thoroughly fried and crushed beneath my teeth in a rewarding ‘krap’. I could literally bite through the bones. The sauce added a taste of tang and saccharine. It was an explosion of triumphant delight; I absolutely love this.

Ardent lovers of crustaceans wouldn’t want to miss out on the Grilled Scallops ($14.90S, $21.90M) and Grilled Oysters ($3.90 per piece with minimum 2-piece order) showered with garlic bits and homemade spicy sauce too.

Lobster Phad Thai $26.90 was probably the largest and most luxurious Phad Thai I have ever seen.

A generous bed of noodles was blanketed by chunky lobster and prawn meats while sprouting a lobster head and tail. The noodles could do with a little bit more moisture and seasoning. Portion-wise, it could feed two ravenous souls or be shared among four.

Desserts were popular Thai favourites such as the Snowflake Yam ($8.90S, $12.90M), Mango Sticky RIce $8.90 and Blue Treasure $6.90.
