Takeshi Noodle Bar at Hotel Soloha – Australian Wagyu Beef Ramen & Truffle Mentaiko Linguine

Over the weekends, we paid Takeshi Noodle Bar a visit for its ramen bowls. Located at the first floor of this eclectic, swanky-looking Hotel Soloha, Takeshi Noodle Bar struck me as a homely social space for friends to dine and drink.

As there is currently a collaboration with Jelebu Dry Laksa, part of the menu offers modern asian dishes while the other half are from Takeshi Noodle Bar.

Menu

There is a concise selection for the ramen bowls – a total of five – which looked all equally appealing. Some choices include the Seafood Mala Ramen $21.90 and Angel Hair Aglio Olio $21.90.

We went for the Australian Wagyu Beef $23.90 and Truffle Mentaiko Linguine $20.90.

The Australian wagyu beef slices were tender and came in truffle Iberico Tonkotsu broth that was aromatic and flavourful. The soft boiled egg was on point and the bamboo shoots seemed to have been pickled before being served – I particularly like the added touch of acerbity to the overall dish.

Leaning on a heavier palate, the Truffle Mentaiko Linguine is a hearty portion of al dente noodles doused in creamy mentaiko and topped with Aburi salmon. Spinkled with crispy furikake, sesame, seaweed and Ikura, the combination was splendid with varying layers and the umami burst of Ikura. Stirred it all in with the runny yolk, this dish would satisfy loyal mentaiko fans.
